Lionel Messi has bought another club.

After the Argentinian superstar had already invested in Spanish fifth-division club UE Cornella, he has now taken over second-division club CD Eldense.

The club itself states on its website: "The entry of one of the most significant personalities in sports history into Spanish professional football as owner of CD Eldense marks the beginning of a long-term project, the goal of which is to advance the sporting, institutional, and social development of CD Eldense."

The club from near Alicante was founded in 1921 by fans of FC Barcelona. The club has never been promoted to the first division. Currently, as a newly promoted team, they are in 19th place in LaLiga2.
