In Marbella: Baumgartner already back training with the ball
The ÖFB star is working on his comeback in Spain alongside two RB teammates.
Christoph Baumgartner continues to work on his comeback.
The 27-year-old ÖFB national player is currently in Marbella, Spain, where he is undergoing an individual training program alongside his recovering RB Leipzig teammates Rocco Reitz and Castello Lukeba.
As reported by "BILD", the trio is training with a private coach during the three-week international break. Baumgartner can already be seen back with the ball at his feet.
Footage from French sports therapist Samy Ghazi documents the sessions. Lukeba also posted the joint training session on Thursday in his Instagram Story.
Marbella: Familiar Territory
For Baumgartner, Marbella is not unfamiliar territory. The ÖFB national team has set up its training camp there multiple times under head coach Ralf Rangnick, most recently in March before the international matches against Ghana and South Korea.
Baumgartner suffered a hamstring tendon tear on May 31 during warm-up before the test match against Tunisia and has been sidelined since. A return to team training at RB Leipzig is currently targeted for October.
This means the 58-cap international could also be a consideration for Austria's last two Nations League matches in November. The ÖFB team will face Ireland on November 14 and Israel on November 17.
