Schicker after weak TSG start: "We have to get through this now"
The Sinsheimers went into the long international break with two defeats. TSG sporting director Schicker wants to stick to the plan.
In the last week before the long international break, TSG Hoffenheim first suffered a 0-2 defeat in their Europa League opener against OFI Crete. Last Sunday, they then lost 1-3 against Paderborn.
This means TSG is only 14th in the Bundesliga table with one win and three defeats. Head coach Christian Ilzer's club finished fifth last season.
"I am convinced by our path"
No reason to panic for Hoffenheim's sporting director Andres Schicker. "We have to get through this difficult phase now," the 40-year-old Styrian told "BILD".
"I am 100 percent convinced by our path, but we clearly need to improve a few things," said the former Sturm official.
After the international break, they will continue with a home game against Hamburger SV (October 10, 3:30 PM).
The two ÖFB players Alexander Prass and Patrick Wimmer are yet to register any Bundesliga points this season. Prass only recently returned from an adductor injury and gained match practice in the 3. Liga before his ÖFB call-up. Wimmer scored a brace and provided an assist in the first DFB-Pokal round against Erzgebirge Aue.
