After Red Card: Ethan Mbappe apologizes to Ancelotti Jr.
The youngster received a red card and marred Ancelotti's Champions League debut with Lille.
Ethan Mbappe (19) is a professional footballer, just like his brother and Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe.
The winger is currently under contract with Lille. Davide Ancelotti has been the coach for the club since summer. Before that, the Italian was an assistant coach at Real Madrid in the 2024/25 season, where Kylian Mbappe completed his debut season under his father Carlo Ancelotti.
Apology After Violent Conduct
His Champions League debut against Betis Sevilla largely went as desired for a long time, with the French side leading twice. However, in the end, former Real coach Manuel Pellegrini's team turned the game around to win 3-2.
A red card for Mbappe following violent conduct complicated a comeback attempt by the French side. He is now apologizing via "Instagram".
"I want to apologize to my teammates, the coaching staff, and the fans for this unacceptable action. The defeat is entirely on me, and I take responsibility for it. I put my teammates in a difficult situation in the most important of all competitions. I am sorry," he writes. Mbappe set up the 1-0 lead.
