Schicker on Verge of Record Deal: Touré Reportedly to Newcastle
Andreas Schicker is on the verge of his next million-dollar coup: Touré is set to leave Hoffenheim for a record sum, heading to Newcastle.
Andreas Schicker is reportedly on the verge of his next transfer coup as sporting director of TSG Hoffenheim. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Bazoumana Touré is set to complete a move to Newcastle United.
Second Most Expensive Transfer in Club History
Accordingly, both clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of 42 million pounds (approx. 49 million euros). The 20-year-old winger from Ivory Coast is expected to sign a five-year contract, with a medical check to follow.
Almost 40 Million Profit
For Schicker, it would be another major success in the transfer market. As recently as early 2025, the Austrian had brought Touré from Hammarby IF to Hoffenheim for a reported ten million euros.
Just about a year and a half later, the Ivorian is now set to become the second most expensive sale in the club's history. Only Joelinton has brought in more so far, having also moved to Newcastle in 2019.
According to Romano, the "Magpies" see Touré as the successor to Anthony Gordon. An official confirmation of the transfer is still pending.
