Jaissle after next defeat: "That must not happen"
The former Salzburg coach also criticized his own players after the defeat against Everton.
For Matthias Jaissle and his Tyrolean assistant coach Alexander Hauser, things are not going smoothly in the Premier League yet!
The former Salzburg coach took over the managerial position at Newcastle United in the summer. After nine rounds, the "Magpies" are only in 13th position with three wins. Too little, for their own ambitions.
On Monday evening, they suffered their second defeat in a matter of days against FC Everton (0:1). Earlier in the week, they had already lost 1:3 in the League Cup.
Criticism from the Head Coach
Jaissle was dissatisfied after the match and strongly criticized his players in an interview with the "BBC": "With today's performance, our playing style was unrecognizable – and that must not happen."
However, the German couldn't explain why: "It's not easy to explain, as it looked so good in training during the week. The lads seemed committed and the confidence was there."
Newcastle's form is generally trending downwards. From the last seven games, they've only secured two wins and suffered five defeats.
Whistles from their own Fans
After the final whistle, the Newcastle players were greeted with a chorus of whistles from their own fans. "After such a performance, I can understand that," Jaissle told "Sky Sports."
On Saturday, they will play an away match in London against FC Fulham and Austrian legionnaire David Affengruber.
