Defeat! Setback for Jaissle and Newcastle
The former Salzburg coach endures his third defeat in the last four Premier League matches.
Newcastle United is still struggling to find their form in the Premier League.
On the ninth matchday of the Premier League, Matthias Jaissle's side narrowly lost 0-1 to FC Everton.
In a hard-fought match, Thierno Barry scored the only goal of the evening shortly after halftime. The offensively toothless hosts found no answer and had to accept another disappointment.
While Everton snatched three important points from Newcastle, the "Magpies" slip down to 13th place in the table after nine matchdays. This means the gap to fifth place and a European qualification spot is also four points, as is the lead over the relegation zones.
