Kai Havertz scored the decisive goal early in the match. Following an assist from Rice, the German was on hand to slot it in for a 1-0 lead.

Subsequently, Liverpool pushed for an equalizer and created several opportunities. Wirtz had the best chance, whose shot in the 39th minute struck the crossbar.

In the final phase, the Reds increased the pressure once again, but hardly created any clear-cut scoring chances. Thus, Arsenal held onto their narrow lead and celebrated an important away victory.
