Brighton & Hove Albion hands Manchester City their second consecutive defeat with a 1-0 away victory in the ninth round of the Premier League.

The decisive goal came already in the eleventh minute through Ayari: The Swede was perfectly positioned in the penalty area - 1-0 (11'). In the Carabao Cup clash with Man City three days prior, he had missed one of Brighton's two penalties, with the "Citizens" emerging victorious.

This time, the "Seagulls" get to celebrate, while Michael Svoboda watches the game from the bench. Brighton, currently in third place, is the surprise team of the Premier League.

Man City could lose the league lead to Arsenal FC on Sunday. The "Gunners", level on points, are visiting Liverpool FC (5:30 PM).

Rose continues winning streak with Bournemouth

Marco Rose also has reason to celebrate: The former Salzburg coach leads AFC Bournemouth to a 2-0 victory against Leeds United.

Evanilson (31') and Adli (90'+4) secure the "Cherries" their sixth consecutive competitive victory. Since their 3-0 win against Sturm Graz in the UEFA Europa League, they have remained flawless, not even conceding a single goal.

Bournemouth climbs to seventh place, while Leeds is in ninth.

Hull City and Ipswich Town draw 2-2, with both teams maintaining their mid-table positions with the point.
