Why Nottingham? Oliver Glasner explains his reasons

Many probably didn't expect Oliver Glasner's move to Nottingham Forest.

After triumphing in the Conference League and winning the FA Cup with Crystal Palace, most would have expected the 51-year-old Austrian to join a different club.

Nottingham has ambitious plans

Now, in an interview with "Sky", Glasner explains for the first time the reasons for his move to the team that finished 16th in the previous Premier League season.

"It's a very historic club with a great fanbase. On top of that, there's a very ambitious owner who wants to take the next step. The team looks very exciting. These were the main reasons why I chose Nottingham," said Glasner.

The stadium and the special atmosphere around the club also played a role in his decision: "I know the stadium as an away manager, and there was always a great atmosphere."
