Nottingham Forest won their penultimate friendly against Bayer Leverkusen with a 2-1 scoreline.

Even before the match, head coach Oliver Glasner was greeted by fans with "standing ovations" and thunderous applause.

Following his titles with Crystal Palace, the former LASK coach is very popular in England.

"A real bargain"

New signing Xaver Schlager also featured in the first half. The Austrian international joined from Leipzig on a free transfer and immediately impressed.

Positive comments piled up on social media. "Schlager seems to be a real bargain," "Wow! Schlager was great," or "Strong performance from Schlager" could be read among the "Tricky Trees'" posts.

The season kicks off on August 22nd in the Premier League against Leeds United.
