Confirmed! FC Chelsea signs Cucurella replacement
Following the departure of the World and European champion, the English top club has unveiled a successor for the left-back. The new signing also comes from Spain.
FC Chelsea has found a replacement for World and European champion Marc Cucurella, who departed for Real Madrid.
As announced by the "Blues" on Wednesday, left-back Pep Chavarria is moving from Rayo Vallecano to London, where he will receive a five-year contract.
According to consistent media reports, the 28-year-old is moving to London for approximately 19 million Euros.
Fee could increase
The transfer fee could further increase through bonuses. Bayer Leverkusen reportedly also showed interest in the Spaniard recently.
Chavarria has played for Rayo Vallecano since summer 2022 and can look back on experience from 105 LaLiga matches.
Last season, he appeared in 44 competitive matches for the Madrid club, eight of which he played in the UEFA Conference League.
