Man City Star Facing Surprising Departure?

The attacking star is said to have been offered to AC Milan – however, a transfer would likely only be financially feasible for the Rossoneri with a sale of Rafael Leão.

Phil Foden's future at Manchester City is suddenly uncertain. The 26-year-old Englishman has only one year left on his contract with the "Skyblues" and could surprisingly leave the club this summer. According to Italian media, his agents have already offered the attacking player to AC Milan.

A factor in the current situation is also the departure of Pep Guardiola. The former City coach was considered a great supporter of Foden and long relied on the academy product.

Under the new coach, the Englishman recently lost his status as an undisputed regular and failed to build on previous performances in a weak season. In 50 competitive matches, he only managed 17 goal contributions, and in 2026, Foden generally remained without a goal.

A Legend at 26

Despite the dip in form, Foden remains a City legend. The attacking player went through all of the club's youth ranks, made his professional debut in 2017/18, and now has 369 appearances and 110 goals for Manchester City.

He has also already played 49 matches for the English national team, but was not nominated for the 2026 World Cup by Thomas Tuchel due to his poor form.

Milan Would Have to Sell Star

A move to AC Milan, however, depends on a possible departure of Rafael Leão. The Rossoneri could only afford Foden's transfer fee if the Portuguese star is sold.

Leão is highly sought after by clubs including Tottenham Hotspur and a transfer to the Premier League could free up the financial resources for a Foden coup.
