Manchester City has finalized the transfer of Elliot Anderson.

The "Skyblues" sign the 23-year-old for a sum of 116 million pounds, equivalent to 135 million euros, from Nottingham Forest, making him the most expensive English player of all time.

More Expensive Than Bellingham

The midfielder surpasses Jude Bellingham, who brought Borussia Dortmund 127 million euros when he moved to Real Madrid, by another eight million euros.

At the same time, the World Cup participant is the joint fifth most expensive transfer in football history. Only Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele, and Alexander Isak brought their former clubs an even greater windfall.

Breakthrough Achieved

Anderson is currently participating in the World Cup in the USA with England, having started all four previous matches there under Thomas Tuchel.

The playmaker, whom Nottingham had signed from Newcastle United in the summer of 2024 for 41.2 million euros, experienced his breakthrough last season. Anderson featured in 50 competitive matches there and was directly involved in nine goals.

In ManCity's midfield, he steps into big shoes: Bernardo Silva has left the "Citizens" for Real Madrid, and Rodri is also consistently linked with a move and will need surgery after the World Cup.
