Chelsea to sign Swiss international
The midfielder has previously captained city rivals Arsenal. Now he could soon feature for Chelsea. However, a first offer has been rejected.
Chelsea wants to strengthen their midfield for the upcoming season and has apparently targeted Granit Xhaka.
However, an initial offer of around eight million pounds is said to have been rejected by Sunderland.
The "Black Cats" officials are not under pressure to sell and want to continue to rely on the services of the Swiss veteran in the upcoming season.
Xhaka wants London move
Xhaka himself, however, is said to prefer a move to Chelsea.
The 33-year-old wants to join the London club and work with Xabi Alonso again there.
Chelsea is therefore already preparing an improved offer.
