Oliver Glasner's return to Selhurst Park was anything but ideal.

With his new team Nottingham Forest, the Austrian coach suffered a 3-1 defeat in the sixth round of the Premier League in his first encounter with former club Crystal Palace.

Forest got off to an ideal start. Dan Ndoye put the "Tricky Trees" ahead in just the third minute.

Forest remained dangerous even after that, but Daichi Kamada equalized for Crystal Palace in the 41st minute. In first-half stoppage time, the "Eagles" turned the game around with a header from Jefferson Lerma (45+4).

24 Shots Not Enough

Palace struck again with clinical precision. In the 59th minute, Spanish World Champion Yeremy Pino secured the 3-1 final score.

Nottingham, for whom Xaver Schlager played until the 66th minute, however, failed to score again despite 23 shots and 2.97 expected goals.

Consequently, Palace moved past Nottingham in the table and now sit in twelfth place. Oliver Glasner's team, on the other hand, slipped to 14th.
