Haaland and Cherki spark Man City joy against Crystal Palace
The two attacking stars each score a brace in the 'Sky Blues'' convincing win.
Manchester City also celebrated a victory in the second round of the English Premier League, beating Crystal Palace 4-1.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 17th minute with a header, his first goal of the season. Following this, the 'Eagles' grew into the game and had several chances to equalize before halftime.
Cherki's Brilliance
In the second half, Rayan Cherki showcased his skill. The Frenchman dribbled through the penalty area, leaving four opponents in his wake, before slotting home to make it 2-0 (54').
However, Palace found a response. Following a free-kick from Yeremy Pino, the ball ricocheted off the crossbar, hit Donnarumma's back, and went into the net (56').
Just three minutes later, Cherki once again made his mark, firing a shot from distance that, with the help of a deflection off an opponent, found the net to make it 3-1 (59'). In the 84th minute, Haaland also bagged his second goal, securing the 4-1 final score.
With two wins from two games, Man City now temporarily sits atop the league table. Crystal Palace, conversely, remains rooted to the bottom without a single point.
