With PL Experience: West Ham United Unveils New Manager
The "Hammers" have found a successor for the sacked Portuguese Nuno Espirito Santo.
Just one day after the dismissal of Nuno Espirito Santo (All Info>>>), English second-division club West Ham United has unveiled a successor for the Portuguese.
As the "Hammers" announced on Wednesday, Scott Parker will take over the head coach position at the traditional English club. The 46-year-old, who previously played for the club and also wore the captain's armband, signs a contract until 2029.
West Ham is currently lagging behind its own expectations this season – an immediate return to the top flight – being only ninth in the Championship. The club is six points adrift of the top of the table.
Achieved Promotion Three Times Already
With Parker, however, the Londoners are bringing a true promotion expert on board: He has already led three teams to the Premier League, most recently with FC Burnley, where he was dismissed last April. Since then, the Briton has been without a club.
Previously, he managed FC Fulham and AFC Bournemouth in England, as well as the Belgian top club FC Brügge. In total, Parker stood on the touchline for 86 Premier League matches.
