Jesse Marsch Secures Group Win as U20 Head Coach
His Canadian side are in the tournament's quarterfinals. However, they only managed two draws recently.
Jesse Marsch, who also holds the senior national team role with Canada, has temporarily taken on the head coach position for the U20 team for the CONCACAF U20 Tournament. The former Salzburg coach aims to get to know the country's talents and secure participation in the U20 World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.
After a brilliant start (3-0 against Panama), a 1-1 draw against Honduras followed. In the final match, they squandered a lead shortly before the end against Jamaica (final score: 2-2). However, five points were enough for a group victory.
Marsch can therefore celebrate advancing to the quarterfinals. There, a rematch with Jamaica awaits the American.
