Illness wave before Austria clash: Braga postpones league game
The Portuguese side must cancel today's Sunday match due to an illness wave.
Bad news for Sporting Braga ahead of the upcoming UEFA Conference League playoff match against Wiener Austria!
The Portuguese side had to cancel their league fixture against Gil Vicente, scheduled for today, Sunday. The reason? A gastrointestinal virus has sidelined almost the entire squad.
In a club statement, Braga announced that due to the virus, only three goalkeepers and seven outfield players are currently available. The players are said to have contracted the virus during the second leg of the third qualifying round in Bulgaria against Dinamo Minsk.
However, this should not affect the match against Wiener Austria next Thursday (from 9 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>). According to the club, the players are expected to be ready for action again after approximately 48 to 72 hours.
