Since Tuesday evening, FC Salzburg's U19 team knows its opening opponent in the UEFA Youth League. The "Young Bulls" will face KRC Genk.

Salzburg qualified for the Youth League by winning the ÖFB Youth League U18 title. They will therefore participate in the Domestic Champions path, which is played with home and away legs.

They must survive three qualification rounds. Salzburg enters the second qualifying round against Genk (match dates: October 28 and November 4). If they advance, the winner of NK Bravo - Red Star Belgrade would await them in the third round.

What happens after the Domestic Champions path

At the end of the third round, ten clubs qualify for the Round of 32 and will meet clubs from the UEFA Champions League path.

These are the youth teams of the clubs participating in the Champions League group stage. LASK's U19 team, for example, is represented in the UEFA Champions League path.

From the Round of 32, there will be a knockout phase with single-leg matches.

In the 2024/25 season, Salzburg reached the semi-finals of the competition, where they suffered a 1-2 defeat against Trabzonspor.
