Salzburg's bid for ex-City talent rejected
FC Red Bull Salzburg's search for a winger is still in full swing. They have now received a rejection from the Championship.
Following the collapsed transfer of Junior Kadile, FC Red Bull Salzburg continues its search for a winger.
The "Bulls" are also said to have explored options in England. As "The Daily Telegraph" reports, FC Red Bull Salzburg has submitted an offer of four million pounds plus a potential sell-on clause for Samuel Edozie of FC Southampton.
US Lecce is also said to have offered a similar sum for the 23-year-old left winger. However, the Championship club rejected both offers.
Contract expires in 2027
The ten-time England U20 international had moved from Manchester City's youth academy to FC Southampton in 2022.
In total, he played 84 competitive matches in England's top two divisions for the "Saints", in which he contributed six goals and seven assists.
In the past season, he was primarily used as a substitute. His contract with FC Southampton only runs until 2027, which is why this summer offers the club one of the last chances for an adequate transfer fee.
An Europa League winner is said to be the desired offensive reinforcement for Salzburg >>>
