After Red Card: Austrian Goalie Polster Makes Champions League Debut
The starting goalkeeper is sent off. Now newcomer Polster makes his first appearance in the playoff second leg.
Precisely in the Champions League playoff second leg, Nikolas Polster makes his competitive debut for his new club NEC Nijmegen.
The reason for this is an early dismissal: Already in the third minute, starting goalkeeper Crettaz rushes out of his goal and handles the ball outside the penalty area. The referee deems the action to be the prevention of a clear goalscoring opportunity and shows him a red card.
As a result, Polster makes his first competitive appearance. However, the Dutch side must now try to make up a 1-3 deficit from the first leg against Bodø/Glimt while playing with ten men.
