Wolfsberger AC presented Lior Gliklich as their new backup goalkeeper on Monday.

The 23-year-old Israeli arrived from Maccabi Bnei Reineh for a small transfer fee.

One person who actively participated in the transfer was Helge Payer. According to "Krone", the current ORF expert is Gliklich's mentor and manager. Accordingly, Payer was also present at the contract signing in Wolfsberg on Monday.

Interestingly: The WAC's goalkeeping position only became vacant due to Nikolas Polster's departure. He is also advised and managed by Payer.

Gliklich also has Austrian citizenship

Even without Payer's involvement, Gliklich was aware of the situation at WAC. "I spoke with Shon Weissman. He told me that Wolfsberg is an outstanding club and advised me to make the move. I also know, of course, that Tai Baribo and Eliel Peretz played here," the keeper is quoted by "Krone".

Gliklich is, by the way, an Israeli-Austrian dual citizen. "Because my relatives lived here 70 years ago. But this is my first time in Austria," said the 23-year-old.
