Bayern worries about key players ahead of CL showdown
Besides the midfield star, the German record champion also worries about coach Kompany.
For FC Bayern Munich, the first real blockbuster of the season awaits on Wednesday. In the UEFA Champions League, they will face FC Arsenal (9:00 PM in the LIVE ticker>>>)
However, the Bavarians are plagued by great concerns, as Bayern had to do without both midfield strategist Joshua Kimmich and coach Vincent Kompany during the final training session before the duel with the English champions.
In addition, difference-maker Michael Olise is suspended after his unnecessary yellow-red card from last week.
"I'm not sure what that means for tomorrow"
For both, it is not yet certain whether they can participate on Wednesday. While Kompany is suffering from a viral illness, Kimmich was absent for private reasons.
Assistant coach Aaron Danks, who represented Kompany at the press conference, said about Kimmich: "Unfortunately, he is absent for personal reasons. I'm not sure what that means for tomorrow."
According to "Bild", Kompany's participation is also quite unlikely, as the Belgian is also said to be suffering from hip problems as a result of the infection.
Neuer back in goal
Another personnel matter that is currently hotly debated in Munich is Manuel Neuer.
The 40-year-old had repeatedly made major errors this season. In the last two games, Jonas Urbig was between the posts for the German record champion.
However, Neuer is expected to return to goal against the "Gunners".
