"Earned with German thoroughness"
When PSG coach Luis Enrique was asked for his opinion on the past Champions League matchday, he appealed against annulling titles won in the past.
Andi Herzog's clear opinion is, "everyone must be quiet, except for Bayern." The German record champions are highly praised by the 103-time ÖFB national team player for their work: "Bayern are the only world-class team that has never had financial problems for decades and has earned that with German thoroughness."
"Whether it's PSG with a sponsor from Arabia, Manchester City, or FC Barcelona with billions in debt - I don't even want to know how much debt Real Madrid has - they are all in the same league," Herzog criticizes the current football business.
Forced Relegation Unlikely, Says Herzog
The fact that Manchester City has been found guilty on 114 charges will nevertheless not pass unnoticed by the club. Herzog does not expect a mandated relegation: "They will receive a significant points deduction and everything will be normal again."
He suspects that the second division, the English Championship, itself does not want the next season to be played with Manchester City: "Then next year the champions in the second division would already be fixed, the other clubs in the Championship don't want that, there will probably be some shady dealings again anyway. Some solution will be found by which they are punished, and in the end, everything will just continue as normal."
