Confirmed! WAC terminates contract with veteran
WAC have terminated the player's contract after an incident in the locker room.
Rene Renner (32) and WAC are parting ways.
As announced by the Bundesliga club, the contract, which was set to expire in 2027, was terminated by mutual agreement. The "Krone" had previously reported on an incident in the locker room.

"Renner was already temporarily suspended last week due to a disciplinary infraction," WAC confirms. The Carinthian club makes it clear: "The details of the disciplinary infraction will remain internal, and therefore, the club will not provide any further statements regarding the incident."
Renner moved from Thailand (Buriram United) to Lavanttal in the summer of 2025. For the club, he scored four goals and provided one assist in 46 games.
