BVB: Chukwuemeka celebrates starting XI debut this season
The Austrian has had a difficult time under Niko Kovac this season so far. Now he gets to start from the off.
Good news for Austrian international Carney Chukwuemeka!
The 23-year-old is in Borussia Dortmund's starting lineup for the first time this season on matchday three of the UEFA Champions League. The "Black and Yellows" are playing away at Sabah FC in Baku (from 6:45 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>).
Only brief appearances so far
This year, Chukwuemeka has only made four brief appearances and accumulated a total of 91 minutes under Niko Kovac. Against the underdog from Azerbaijan, he is now set to start in attacking midfield behind strikers Fabio Silva and Serhou Guirassy.
Countryman Marcel Sabitzer is on the bench for now.
