Paris Saint-Germain beat Manchester City on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

The title holders defeated the "Skyblues" 4-2 on Wednesday evening at the Etihad Stadium.

Furious Start from Paris

In a high-quality encounter, it was the visitors who set the tone for victory within 15 minutes.

Desire Doue scored a spectacular long-range shot to make it 1-0 (13'), and just two minutes later Ousmane Dembele added a header (15').

ManCity also played their part and had chances, but Paris were clinical – Vitinha also scored from distance to make it 3-0 at half-time (32').

City Improve But Can't Catch Up

After the break, City tried to turn things around – Haaland provided a glimmer of hope with a header in the 53rd minute, making it 1-3.

But PSG found the perfect answer shortly after – Donnarumma initially saved a long-range shot from Akhliouche, but the ball spun off the ground and still found its way into the net (62').

Haaland beat PSG keeper Safonov for a second time after 75 minutes, but in the end, it remained 4-2 for Paris.

PSG lead the CL table after two rounds and two victories, while City suffer their first defeat and are provisionally in 17th place.

Villa Rout Fenerbahce

In the parallel match, Aston Villa won 6-0 against Fenerbahce SK.

The "Villans" went into half-time with a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Manzambi (12') and Nicolas Jackson (31'/39'). In the second half, veteran Ross Barkley scored first from the penalty spot (68') and shortly after from the edge of the box (72').

In the 90th minute, Tammy Abraham completed the half-dozen, while Fener were denied a consolation goal.

The British side celebrated their second win in the ongoing CL season, while the Turks are on one point.
