Last season, Manchester City, Inter Milan, and Sporting already struggled on the artificial pitch of four-time champions FK Bodø/Glimt.

On the second matchday of the current Champions League season, Borussia Dortmund also came up short at the Arctic Circle. Bodø/Glimt narrowly defeated BVB 1-0 and, after an opening 0-5 loss against Bayern Munich, secured their first Champions League points. It is the Norwegians' fourth consecutive CL home win across seasons.

After a goalless first half, in which the hosts were more dangerous in front of goal, Sjövold tucked away the 1-0 following a beautiful combination (52'). Previously, Helmersen had a double chance to take the lead (46').

At the start of the final fifteen minutes, Dortmund's loan-signing Nwaneri missed a big header chance for the 1-1 equaliser (75'). In stoppage time, Bodø keeper Haikin preserved the 1-0 lead.

Austrian international Chukwuemeka came into the game for Dortmund in the 77th minute. Sabitzer remained on the bench.

Stuttgart with Second Win

VfB Stuttgart celebrated their second consecutive Champions League victory with a 3-0 win against Slovan Bratislava.

Undav paved the way for victory in Slovakia with his goal for 1-0 (29'). The 2-0 came from an own goal by Cruz (65'). Substitute Demirovic made it 3-0 (90').

For Slovan, Austrian defender Wimmer came into the game in the 75th minute. Spalt remained on the bench for VfB.

Shakhtar Turns Game Against AEK

Shakhtar Donetsk, who host their CL home matches at Chelsea's Stamford Bridge in London, won 3-1 against AEK Athens. Initially, the Greeks took the lead through Majer (28').

Pedrinho equalised from the penalty spot in the 34th minute. In the final phase, AEK goalkeeper Brignoli diverted a sharp cross into his own net (80'). Mendoza scored to make it 3-1 (86').
