Defeat for Arnautovic and Cham

Marko Arnautovic and Muhammed Cham, however, have no reason to celebrate. The Austrian duo's Red Star Belgrade lost 0-1 away to Hapoel Be'er Sheva. The first leg was played in Szombathely, Hungary.

Both initially sat on the bench and watched as Ahmed scored the only goal of the match in the 38th minute.

Both Arnautovic and Cham were substituted in at half-time, but the turnaround did not materialize despite a yellow-red card against Be'er Sheva's Baltaxa. The Israeli defender once played for Wiener Austria.

Double Luck for Red Star

Instead, the Serbian champions even had double luck when VAR initially detected an offside position for Peretz's supposed 2-0 goal and consequently disallowed it (71').

Shortly after, a red card against defender Luckassen was overturned after a VAR review, with the Ghanaian escaping with a yellow card (80'). Cham was also cautioned with a yellow card in the closing stages for a dive (85').

The second leg will take place next Tuesday in Belgrade.

Surprise in Armenia

There was a surprise in the duel between FC Ararat-Armenia and NK Celje. The Armenian champions beat their Slovenian counterpart 2-1.

Also in the Champions Path, Levski Sofia defeated Kairat Almaty 1-0 with a goal in stoppage time.

Dinamo Zagreb thrashed Kauno Zalgiris 5-0 and are effectively in the playoffs. The Lithuanian side has former Bundesliga defender Nosa Iyobosa Edokpolor under contract.

Olympiacos Piraeus, however, could not manage more than a 0-0 draw against NEC Nijmegen.
