Betis Defeats Porto at Home
In the parallel match, Betis Sevilla prevail 3-2 at home against FC Porto.
Already in the ninth minute, the visitors have their first good chance; an early goal from a Silva header is denied by the crossbar.
The game then becomes calmer.
Only after about half an hour does Betis record their next chance. Deossa tries it himself after a technically beautiful individual effort, but narrowly misses the goal.
First Goal Disallowed
Shortly before the break, the ball hits the back of the home team's net for the first time (42nd). Sainz touches the ball with his hand before Varela's shot, so the referee disallows the 1-0 lead. Thus, the teams go into halftime goalless.
After the restart, it doesn't take long for the 1-0 to fall. Garcia lays it off to Ezzalzouli in the box, who finds the top corner (47th). Just moments later, the post denies a quick double from Antony's shot.
Betis Decides Game Late
Instead, the visitors score the equalizer. Veiga scores from a set piece to make it 1-1 (54th), and Porto extends their lead to 2-1 just seven minutes later through Aghehowa.
However, Betis finds their way back into the game and can score the 2-2 through substitute Hernandez (74th) and add the winning goal shortly before the end through Isco (84th).
Betis Sevilla ultimately defeat FC Porto 3-2. After the victory, Betis are in ninth place in the table. Porto is 30th.
