WSG Tirol strengthens its squad for the upcoming season with Nemanja Celic.

The 27-year-old is versatile in defense and joins the Wattens-based club from second-division side SKN St. Pölten on a free transfer. He was previously active for them in the 2020/21 season.

Back then, he caught the eye, leading to a move to Darmstadt 98. His path then took him via LASK to Ried and most recently to St. Pölten.

"Targeted Reinforcement"

"Nemanja knows our club, our philosophy, our values, and the entire environment here in Wattens. Back then, he was a key player for our WSG and impressively demonstrated what he is capable of. Since then, he has gained valuable experience in Germany and Austria and has matured both as a footballer and as a personality. 'Nemo' can be deployed in several positions – we are delighted to welcome him back to Wattens. He is a targeted reinforcement for us, and we are convinced that he will add important quality to our team, both on the pitch and in the dressing room," said WSG manager Stefan Köck.

Celic himself says: "I am extremely happy to be back here. Since the day the transfer became clear, the anticipation has been great – today I arrived, and it's still just like it was a few years ago - the people, the environment, the positivity, the familiar atmosphere. I am confident that the season will be as successful as it was back then!"
