Tom Ritzy Hülsmann's move to French Ligue 2 is complete.
The German leaves TSV Hartberg and signs a contract with Stade Reims until summer 2031.
The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but it is believed to be between 2.5 and 3 million euros. This represents a record transfer for the Styrians.
New Number 1
The 22-year-old is planned as the number one for the sixth-placed team in the previous Ligue 2 season, replacing Ewen Jaouen, who was sold to Newcastle for 21.5 million euros.
"I am very happy that the move to Stade Reims has come to fruition. I had a great time in Hartberg, learned a lot here and worked with great people."
"From the very first conversation, I had a very good feeling about Reims and am joining another very family-run club. In addition, the infrastructure is top-notch, and I can continue my development here," says the goalkeeper, who was voted Goalkeeper of the Season in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga last season.
Several Offers from Abroad
Frank Schreier, managing director of the "More than Sport" agency, explains: "There were several ready-to-sign offers from first-division clubs in Italy and France, as well as a club from the English Championship."
"However, it was very important for Ritzy and us to move as a 'number one' and get a lot of playing time. Furthermore, Stade Reims was completely convincing in the overall package! For Hartberg, it is by far the biggest transfer in the club's history in terms of transfer fee! Thanks to everyone involved!"
