WAC captain Wimmer suffers serious knee injury
As feared, the Wolfsberg defensive leader sustained a serious knee injury in the Cup match against Parndorf. Wimmer will be out for several months.
As confirmed by the club on Monday afternoon, Nicolas Wimmer has sustained a serious knee injury.
During WAC's tense victory against Parndorf in the 2nd round of the ÖFB Cup, the defensive leader suffered a severe knee injury. The 31-year-old had to be stretchered off in the 54th minute.
The club did not disclose the exact nature of the injury. Coach Thomas Silberberger told ORF after the match: "The serious injury actually makes the victory worthless."
