"Will happen" - Is Thierno Ballo moving to France's second division?
WAC coach Thomas Silberberger confirms the impending transfer of the 24-year-old Austrian.
At Wolfsberger AC, a lot will still be happening on the transfer market in the coming weeks.
Among others, Thierno Ballo is expected to leave the club. WAC coach Thomas Silberberger confirmed this to "Krone": "An international transfer will happen."
That's also why he has only completed individual training sessions at the start of WAC's preparations so far.
Saint-Etienne or Le Havre?
According to "Krone" information, French second-division club AS Saint-Etienne is the main contender for a Ballo transfer. Ligue 1 club Le Havre is also reportedly still in the running.
Wolfsberger AC is likely to receive a transfer fee of over three million Euros.
Ballo is still under contract in Lavanttal until 2027. Last season, the 24-year-old was loaned to FC Millwall in England's second division. In the Championship, he recorded one goal and seven assists in 31 games.
Fitz and Prelec still in the picture
Should Ballo leave WAC, Dominik Fitz is still considered an option. "He is one of several players," Silberberger openly states about the interest in the 27-year-old midfielder from Minnesota United.
"There are two attacking positions I would like to fill. Nik Prelec also remains in the running," explains Silberberger. The 25-year-old striker still has a contract with Cagliari Calcio until 2027.
