Major Talent: Salzburg's Interest in Senft's Protégé Endures
Already a few months ago, the "Bulls" were linked with last year's shooting star of the 2. German Bundesliga.
At Karlsruher SC, new head coach Maximilian Senft can look forward to several exciting talents.
In addition to German U-team player Pinto Pedrosa (18), Louey Ben Farhat (20) is also among them. The two-time Tunisian international achieved his breakthrough last season. For KSC (20 appearances), he scored six goals and provided two assists in the 2. Bundesliga.
FC Red Bull Salzburg became aware of the German-Tunisian dual national during the previous season (read more here >>>). As "Sky Sport Deutschland" reports, Salzburg now has concrete interest in Senft's protégé.
Major Competition
However, Salzburg are not alone. Eintracht Frankfurt (head coach: Adi Hütter), AFC Bournemouth (head coach: Marco Rose), and OSC Lille are also said to be showing interest.
Hütter's club, however, is considered the most likely suitor for Ben Farhat. According to "Sky", a verbal agreement with the player has been reached. Furthermore, SGE is said to be the only club that has already submitted an offer to KSC. However, this offer is reportedly below the demands of the second-division club.
Karlsruhe is demanding a package worth over ten million Euros.
Still Chances for the DFB Team
Ben Farhat was even planned for the Tunisians at the 2026 World Cup. However, he decided against participation after a physically demanding season.
Another reason for the rejection could be that the dual national still has the opportunity to play for the German national team. Had he played for Tunisia at the World Cup, he would have been tied to that nation.
So far, Ben Farhat has only appeared in two friendly matches.
