Drexler after Salzburg Masterclass: "I should be up front more often"
After the clear 5:1 victory against Lustenau, satisfaction prevails at Salzburg. Tim Drexler underlines his offensive qualities with a goal.
Things are going well for the "Bulls" in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga!
In the 11th round, Red Bull Salzburg celebrated a clear 5:1 victory against Austria Lustenau, thus keeping pace with leader Rapid with eight wins and three draws.
Drexler impresses with a goal
Besides the clear result, Tim Drexler also had a personal success. The full-back got on the scoresheet and takes his goal after the match with humour: "Maybe I should be up front more often!", says the defender with a smile in an interview on "Sky".
The 21-year-old is satisfied with his performance and wants to use every opportunity he gets: "I use every chance I get. I think I'm doing quite well, and with that goal, I might have made an even stronger case for myself."
Röhl finds a "fly in the ointment"
Coach Danny Röhl also summarized the match as a "dominant performance". The Salzburg coach still found a "fly in the ointment". The concession of a goal in stoppage time was "unnecessary" in the German's view. The loss of possession was not necessary, as he emphasized. "If we play it out cleanly, then we have a clean sheet."
Röhl, however, sees the development of individual players positively. One or two players have been brought back into a "confident state".
The 37-year-old is primarily speaking of goal scorer Yorbe Vertessen, who had a difficult start to the season.
"I've found the new flow"
"The last few weeks were a bit difficult. I didn't find my level." But now he has "found the new flow," as Vertessen said after the match.
Equally happy is the scorer of the 2-0 goal, Franz Krätzig. For the German, after his return to the starting eleven, the game itself was primarily in the foreground. "Goals always feel good, but simply being on the pitch was important for me today," explained the Salzburg player.
