For some teams, the international break comes at an inopportune time - SV Ried is one of them.

After the 1-1 draw against Red Bull Salzburg, the Innviertlers put on a show against Wolfsberger AC, celebrating a dominant 4-1 victory that could have been even higher.

A 2-0 lead was already on the scoreboard after just nine minutes, Stefan Schwab extended it before the break, and new signing Isaac Thelin also introduced himself in the closing stages.

"For the most part, everything worked out. We allowed too many chances, but up front we were clinical and could have scored one or two more goals," Martin Rasner said with satisfaction on "Sky".

"Now we have found our rhythm, we must continue like this," he was convinced.

More goals desired

Ante Bajic opened the scoring in the third minute. "Last week we showed a good defensive performance, today we scored the goals offensively, even though there could have been 1-2 more," he also wanted to see a crushing victory.

Coach Mario Despotovic was particularly pleased with the "how" of the success. "We made good use of the spaces the opponent offered us in counter-attacking play. It wasn't easy to play through their good pressing. But credit to the team for seeing out the offensive moves so well."

And yes, the chances for more were there: "Almost five 'expected goals' - that's not so easy to create. I am very satisfied. Every win feels good, everything is much simpler."

"If everyone does what they want..."

On the opposite side, a crisis mood is slowly setting in.

After the opening victory over Wiener Austria, WAC only managed to collect two more points, and now Silberberger's team also heads into the international break with three clear defeats in a row.

Thomas Silberberger's reaction offers no hope that a major turnaround will succeed in these three weeks: "Somehow I'm speechless. If you go into the match like that, and it's decided after nine minutes, then I honestly don't even know where I currently need to start."

He added that the problem is not to be sought in attack: "We didn't do so badly offensively in the first half. But if you're 0-3 down due to three grossly negligent errors, because you're not ready to defend... You really have to lay bare the issues there."

"But if everyone does what they want... in possession it was decent enough, but without the ball it's hard work. Currently, we are completely on the ropes.

He is aware of the seriousness of the situation: "We have to be extremely careful. I believe everyone can read the table and the schedule. Currently, the quality for the Bundesliga is missing."
