Ried celebrates clear victory against harmless Wolfsbergers
Ried steered the match in their direction early on. WAC offered little resistance afterwards.
SV Ried celebrates a clear 3-0 victory against Wolfsberger AC on Matchday 7 of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga.
The Upper Austrians delivered a very composed performance. WAC, on the other hand, offered little.
The Innviertlers got off to a perfect start. Rhodes crossed to the far post for Bajic, who headed in the opener as early as the fourth minute.
Schwab from the penalty spot
Shortly after, it was another cross, this time from Pomer, that led to the second goal. He found Aisowieren's head from the half-space, who was able to double the lead (9.).
Ried remained on the attack thereafter and repeatedly created dangerous chances in front of goal. In the 30th minute, Rasner and Bajic missed a double opportunity for the 3-0. Rasner hit the post and Bajic was denied by a strong save from Gütlbauer.
Shortly before halftime, Ried was awarded a penalty after Gütlbauer brought down Rhodes. Stefan Schwab stepped up and converted confidently (40.).
Thelin scores on debut
The second half was a bit quieter. Ried allowed little to happen, and the Wolfsbergers found no solutions.
Accordingly, Ried had the first good chance in the second half. Substitute Boguo hit only the post after a counter-attack in the 68th minute. Shortly after, Boguo was denied by Gütlbauer.
In the 81st minute, Thelin then secured the final decision. After superb build-up play from Bajic with the outside of his foot, the Swede used all his experience to score on his debut, making it 4-0.
Just before the end, WAC did manage a consolation goal. After a nice corner from Avdijaj, Kitz rose highest and headed in (88.).
With this victory, the Innviertlers jump to seventh place in the table with eight points. WAC, however, remains eleventh with five points.
