The deal is now done: As recently became apparent, Altach's left-back Mohamed Ouedraogo is moving to Olympique Lyon.

The Vorarlberg club announced this on Friday in a press release.

Altach "was the perfect place"

"For Momo, Altach was the first port of call in Europe – and we are pleased that he started this journey with us. He settled in well from the start, continuously worked on himself and gradually played his way into the team," said Altach's sporting director Philipp Netzer about the transfer.

Netzer added: "The fact that he is now making the leap into one of Europe's top leagues particularly pleases us as a club – it shows that we offer young players a real platform here to showcase themselves and prepare for the next big step. We wish Mohamed all the best for his new challenge and will happily follow his further development."

For him, Altach was the "perfect place" to arrive in Europe, Ouedraogo expressed his gratitude.

"I not only learned a lot in footballing terms but also personally, and I was able to develop step by step. For that, I am very grateful to the entire club and all the people who supported me here. Now I'm really looking forward to the new challenge in France and am ready to take the next step in my career," said the man from Burkina Faso.

Farewell after three years

According to media reports, Ouedraogo is said to have had a release clause of 1.5 million euros enshrined in his contract.

The Altach club did not disclose any information about the actual transfer fee.

Ouedraogo played for SCR Altach since 2023; in the past season, he made 29 Bundesliga appearances (four goals, one assist).
