SV Ried reorganizes its youth section
A new leadership duo is now active at the Innviertler's academy.
SV Ried has installed a new leadership duo at its football academy.
Romanian-born Sandu Tabirca (61) takes over the sporting direction of Ried's football education. The Innviertler Matthias Wimmer (24) will be the new administrative head.
Experience in Austria and Romania
Tabirca has worked as a coach, assistant coach, and technical director for clubs and youth teams in both Austria and Romania.
From 2014 to 2020, the 61-year-old, who lives with his family in Ybbs an der Donau, coordinated the Romanian U15 to U21 national teams. From 2015, he led the strategy project for youth development in Romanian football.
Since 2014, he has been responsible for UEFA PRO, UEFA A, and UEFA A Elite coach training at the Romanian Football Federation.
"My goal, together with the entire coaching staff, is to create a modern, learning-oriented, and performance-enhancing training environment. The focus will be on the individual development of our players, a clear playing philosophy, and close cooperation between the academy, the club, and all involved parties. I want to foster a culture where curiosity, responsibility, and continuous learning are a given," says Tabirca.
"Next Step in Development"
Wimmer will be the new administrative head. The 24-year-old from Innviertel will soon complete his business administration degree. Most recently, he worked at a tax consulting firm alongside his studies.
"As the administrative head of the academy, I can now turn my hobby into a profession at SV Oberbank Ried and work for a professional football club. I often attend matches myself and, as a resident of Peterskirchen, I don't live far from the academy. I am very much looking forward to this new challenge," says Wimmer.
Wolfgang Fiala, Sports Managing Director at SV Ried, emphasizes the academy's importance for the club: "Training our own players is not an option for a club like SV Oberbank Ried, but a necessity. Sandu Tabirca brings international experience in player and coach training, while Matthias Wimmer ensures professional structures in the background. I am convinced that with this duo, we will take the next step in development at the academy."
