Injured again: Centre-back out for Rapid for several weeks
The defender is plagued by injury misfortune. He already missed almost the entire pre-season. A striker is on the verge of his comeback.
SK Rapid will once again have to do without Jean Marcelin for an extended period.
The centre-back has suffered another injury and will be unavailable for the Hütteldorfers, according to coach Johannes Hoff Thorup, for "up to ten weeks".
The Malagasy international sustained a muscle tear in his thigh in August 2025 and only recently celebrated his comeback. The defender made three brief appearances for Rapid II in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga recently.
At least there's positive news regarding Claude Mbuyi; the French striker could return to the Green and White squad next week.
