Katzer on Transfers: "There's keen interest in our players"
Rapid's sporting director still has a lot of work ahead of him in the remaining days of the transfer window. In an interview, he discusses the current situation.
After their exit from the Conference League play-off against Heart of Midlothian (to the match report >>>), further personnel changes could follow at SK Rapid.
Sporting Director Markus Katzer does not rule out movements until the end of the transfer period.
"Let's see what the next few days bring. I believe that one or two things could still happen," explains Katzer in an "ORF" interview.
New Signings Not Ruled Out
However, new players will only arrive if space is created in the squad beforehand. "We will not sign any player without having let someone go," emphasizes the sporting director.
Romeo Amane is considered a possible candidate for departure. While Katzer does not confirm the speculation surrounding the midfielder, he hints that several Rapid players are attracting interest: "There is already keen interest in some of our players."
Focus on Sturm and Salzburg
First, however, the Hütteldorfer must process the disappointment of their European exit.
"For the first time in recent years, we are not in the group stage. Now it is, of course, bitter; now disappointment naturally prevails. And yet we have to look forward. We have an important league match against Sturm on Sunday, then against Salzburg the following Wednesday, and then it's straight on to the Cup."
Katzer also holds the team accountable: "We must not bury our heads in the sand now."
