Confirmed! GAK signs new defensive midfielder
GAK have found what they were looking for in Israel in their search for a defensive midfielder.
Liam Hermesh moves to GAK.
The 22-year-old Israeli joins from Maccabi Haifa and signs a contract with GAK until 2029.
Hermesh has primarily played in Israel's first and second divisions during his career. In 2025, he moved to Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova, where he made 15 appearances.
The former Israel U18 national team player now moves to the ADMIRAL Bundesliga and is expected to stabilize GAK's defense.
"A special season lies ahead"
"Liam is strong-running and works exceptionally hard against the ball, and that's precisely the stability we want in the center. At 22, he still has a lot of development ahead of him. The fact that Ferdinand Feldhofer has already worked with several Israeli players will make his start even easier," explains Sporting Director Tino Wawra.
Hermesh raves about his new club: "I am absolutely thrilled to become part of this great club with its proud tradition. I can't wait to be on the pitch, play in front of our fans, and experience this special atmosphere. I am convinced that a special season lies ahead, and I promise to give my all in every training session and every match. I'm eager to finally step onto the pitch in the stadium."
