Rapid misses out on midfield target
A Moroccan was rumored as a possible replacement for transfer candidate Romeo Amane. However, his future will not be in Vienna-Hütteldorf.
Anouar El Azzouzi will not be joining SK Rapid.
The Moroccan (25) is leaving Fortuna Düsseldorf and joining Serie A promoted side Frosinone Calcio. He signs a three-year contract.
No transfer fee is due for the central midfielder, as his contract with the Westphalians was no longer valid due to their relegation to the 3. Liga.

El Azzouzi had also recently been linked with a move to Vienna-Hütteldorf.
The Dutch-born player was reportedly discussed as a potential replacement for departing candidate Romeo Amane. Last summer, the player was also linked with a move to arch-rival Austria Wien.
Before his 1.5 million euro transfer to Düsseldorf, El Azzouzi played for second-division side FC Dordrecht and Eredivisie club PEC Zwolle.
