Done deal! Austria Wien signs new centre-back
Ibrahim Buhari strengthens the Violets' defence long-term. The Nigerian arrives on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old Ibrahim Buhari moves on a free transfer from Swedish top-flight club IF Elfsborg to Austria Wien.
At the Verteilerkreis, the 24-year-old signs a contract until 2029. At Austria, Buhari will wear the number three.
The 1.90-meter-tall Nigerian has made 77 league appearances in the Swedish Allsvenskan. However, in the 2026 season, he only featured in five matches.
Strong athletic attributes
Austria's sporting director Zhomas Zorn on the new signing: "With Ibrahim Buhari, we have signed a centre-back who, with his athletic attributes and physique, perfectly matches our requirements profile."

He will join the team as early as Wednesday and will complete his first team training session for the Violets.
