"I enjoyed it!" - Scheiblehner satisfied after 0-0 debut

Although GAK should have won the match against Wolfsberger AC based on their chances, the joy over the good performance outweighs the disappointment.

In the first game under new coach Gerald Scheiblehner, GAK immediately secured a point.

However, much more was possible on the day; they should have clearly won the 0-0 draw against WAC on Matchday 5 of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga (to the match report >>>), especially since they had many more chances and played with a numerical advantage for over 75 minutes.

Nevertheless, the new coach wanted to highlight the positives from that afternoon: "I enjoyed how many chances we created today. It's a shame that it wasn't enough for a goal; the team would have deserved it."

"But that's football. The important thing is that we kept a clean sheet and at least took home a point," Scheiblehner told "Sky".

"Also quite surprising"

Although the Graz-based team remained without a goal for the fourth time in five games, optimism prevailed in the "Sky" interview after the match. He saw many good things, and if they continued to show good performances, victories would eventually come automatically.

"I believe the team has also experienced a few unpleasant things in recent weeks, so it was quite surprising to me that we brought such energy onto the pitch for 90 minutes," Scheiblehner hinted at the 0-8 defeat against Rapid a few weeks ago.

However, he said that they had engaged the fans with their performance, which was important to him. "We were very attentive, which makes me extremely happy, and after a somewhat weaker phase after the break, we regained the momentum. It was truly a very well-rounded performance, and the victories will still come."

Now it's about training with even more intensity to be stronger than the opponent in the final phase. That wasn't the case today but will certainly come.

"A lot of energy" awaits GAK

For Peter Michorl, who himself hit the woodwork twice, the performance in eleven-against-eleven was also a reason for confidence, as they were already better there. "Today was one of those days where it just unfortunately didn't go in. But we can build on the performance, which was really good," said the attacking player.

Michorl had only positive words for the new coach: "A new coach always brings energy. Everyone knows Gerald Scheiblehner's playing style, which is associated with a lot of energy. I think we showed that today; it was a first step in the right direction."

And with his final words, the 31-year-old summed up the game from GAK's perspective succinctly: "Performance good, result expandable."
