SK Rapid continues their winning streak!

The "Green-Whites" win 3-0 against WSG Tirol in front of their home crowd to kick off the seventh round of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga. With their sixth win in the seventh game, the Hütteldorfer also secure the best season start in the club's history since 1998.

Back then, the club collected 19 points after seven rounds; this year it's 18. The ADMIRAL Bundesliga table >>>

Livelier Start

In a hard-fought opening phase, neither team was able to create dangerous scoring chances.

In the 25th minute, SK Rapid Wien celebrates for the first time. Ercan Kara gets a header after a free-kick from Bolla and scores the supposed 1-0, but the striker is clearly offside and so the goal does not count.

Second Attempt Counts

Just a few minutes later, Jannes Horn gets a little too much space and time on the left wing and is able to cross into the box. The cross finds the incoming Ercan Kara, who heads the ball into the net for the second time (33').

This time the goal counts and the hosts go into halftime with a 1-0 lead.

Game Decided

In the 62nd minute, there's a brief moment of excitement: Dahl takes a shot and hits Gugganig's arm, but the referee doesn't award a penalty, as it's not an unnatural movement.

But the Hütteldorfer don't let that get them down and seal the deal just five minutes later. Adamsen lays it off across the box and Bolla blasts the ball into the net for 2-0 (67').

In the closing stages, substitute Nikolaus Wurmbrand scores the third goal for the Hoff-Thorup eleven (86'), who thus jump back to first place at least until Sunday. WSG remains in fifth place.
