On Matchday 10 of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga, SCR Altach defeated Wiener Austria 2-1.

The match started exactly as one would expect when the eleventh-placed team meets the tenth-placed team. Both teams desperately needed a win but lacked confidence.

The first 30 minutes saw a very hard-fought game. Numerous duels, sloppy passes, and incorrect runs characterized the first half-hour.

First Shot on Goal Leads to 1-0

Austria's first shot on goal came only after 40 minutes. Nnodim brought the ball into the center, followed by a lot of commotion in the penalty area, and the ball fell at Eggestein's feet at the penalty spot. The striker then remained ice-cold and made it 1-0 (40.).

The game was no different after the break. Both teams lacked the final push towards goal, and Austria coach Helm tried to bring fresh impetus with Boateng after 55 minutes.

Altach's first notable chance in the second half fell to Massombo. After a cross, he got into a good shooting position, but Radlinger in the Vienna goal managed to prevent the score (63.).

Altach Turn the Game Around

In a contested situation at the edge of Austria's penalty area, Lee Eisschill set up the free-kick. Greil took the free-kick from 18 meters and placed it perfectly into the top corner for 1-1 (71.).

Just four minutes later, Greil also had a chance to take the lead. The attacking player tried his luck from 25 meters, sending his long-range effort just wide of the goal.

And then things got really tough for the "Veilchen" (Violets). Jäger bypassed Handl and laid it off to Massombo. He gave Radlinger no chance and turned the game around with the 2-1 (81.).

With this, the Vorarlbergers (Altach) moved past Austria and are now ninth. The Viennese slipped to second-to-last, eleventh place (7 points). This extends Austria's winless streak in Altach since June 2020.
